On Friday, 24 October, Elesa had the honour of welcoming the Mayor of Monza, Paolo Pilotto, accompanied by Councillors Carlo Abbà (Councillor for Labour, Commerce and Productive Activities, Territorial Marketing, Digital Transition, Lighting and Energy, Networks), Marco Lamperti (Councillor for Urban Planning, Private Construction and Public Works), and Egidio Riva (Councillor for Welfare and Health), for a visit that highlighted the company’s commitment to employee wellbeing and its investment in the local area.
The visit began at the mobile clinic of LILT – the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer – from the Milan Monza Brianza branch, which returned to Elesa’s Monza premises to offer all female employees free medical consultations and screening tests. The municipal delegation then remained at the company until late afternoon to tour the construction site of the ongoing expansion project, approved by the City Administration, showing great interest in Elesa’s industrial operations as well.

With its 123,000 inhabitants, Monza represents a strategic area for Elesa, which has been operating in the municipality for 84 years, contributing to the economic and social growth of the local community.
Mayor Pilotto stated: “I have seen a company that is highly innovative and technologically advanced, with strong welfare initiatives and a remarkable focus on people’s wellbeing. It is environmentally sustainable and has clear prospects for growth and development in our area.
I am pleased that a company like Elesa is based in Monza, given the role it plays in its sector and in technological innovation, its undeniable positive impact on employment and the local economy, and its valuable contribution to keeping design and production skills in the city — among the finest that Monza and the Brianza region have to offer.” He added: “It would be desirable if, as already happens with students, small groups of residents from neighbouring districts could also have the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of Elesa’s working and production environment.”
An advanced corporate welfare plan
Among the most appreciated initiatives are 30 part-time contracts within the production department, shorter night shifts ending by 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, seasonal flu vaccinations, and a second-level company agreement in place since 1995 — all concrete examples of Elesa’s commitment to employee wellbeing.
Such initiatives reflect Elesa’s vocation for combining innovation and sustainability, creating value not only through its manufacturing activities, but also through its dedication to the community in which it operates.
Carlo Bertani, CEO of Elesa S.p.A., added: “We were honoured to welcome the Mayor and three Councillors from such an important city as Monza. For us, this has been a truly memorable day, marked by the great attention shown by the members of the City Council. We were pleasantly surprised by the questions they asked — including technical ones — which revealed a genuine and lively curiosity.
I believe that mutual understanding and the exchange of ideas, carried out with respect for each other’s roles and in the spirit of institutional integrity, are of great value to the community.
Moreover, the new expansion project will bring positive effects in terms of Environmental Compensation measures, much of which will benefit the S. Albino district. We are proud to be part of a community that has given us so much — above all, skilled, competent and hard-working people.”

Elesa confirms its commitment to prevention with LILT
Following the prevention day open to the entire community, held in Piazza San Paolo and sponsored by Elesa, the company has reiterated its commitment to the local area by bringing prevention directly to the workplace. The LILT mobile clinic returned to Elesa’s Monza facilities to offer all female employees free medical consultations and screening tests.
Maria Albano, Head of Corporate Welfare at LILT, stated: “Elesa has been supporting LILT for over 40 years and represents for us a virtuous example of a company committed not only to actively supporting cancer prevention, by creating optimal conditions for on-site screening, but also to making this opportunity accessible to the most vulnerable communities.”
This initiative forms part of the company’s broader commitment to raising awareness among the population — starting with its own employees — about the importance of prevention and health protection.
In addition to the October events, throughout the year Elesa actively supports LILT in a range of other initiatives, including the Blue Ribbon campaign for the prevention of male cancers; seminars held within the company to provide employees with information aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and greater awareness of proper dietary choices; and dermatological screenings for the prevention of skin cancers for all employees.
