On April 26th Elesa participated in the World Intellectual Property Day (IP Day), established to highlight the cultural, economic and social importance of design, patents, trademarks and software by LES Italia (Licensing Executives Society) with the collaboration of the School of Design of “Politecnico di Milano”.
The event, held at the ADI Design Museum, aimed to celebrate the past, present and future of design, which is one of the internationally recognized Italian excellences.
In the first part of the conference, a video was shown with a collection of the most significant Compasso d'Oro awards, recognized by the Ministry of Culture as "of exceptional artistic and historical interest", including Elesa products exhibited at ADI (handwheels ECW.375 and EWW.240, Giorgio De Cursu design).

In addition, in line with the theme of IP Day 2022: "IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future", were presented some exceptional projects of young emerging designers selected from students of the “Politecnico di Milano”.
Giuseppe Sena, lawyer and professor emeritus of industrial law and founder of the law firm that assists Elesa in its global strategy for the defense of intellectual property, gave a speech that initially focused on the years of the birth of the legal framework of intellectual property, and then moved on to more current issues such as the protection of intellectual works and design in emerging markets such as China.
This was followed by some representatives of the School of Design of the “Politecnico di Milano”, who spoke about the ways in which they encourage young students to design new objects of design, engineering and innovative technologies, allowing the best ideas to come to life, becoming patents/models/copyrights deposited and making them available to interested industries.
Mr. Carlo Bertani, CEO Elesa, invited to participate in the celebration by LES Italia and accompanied by colleagues Francesca Boccasile and Raffaella Villa, concluded the participation in the event with a visit to the Elesa products exhibits in the design museum.
