Elesa is increasing its product range with a new family of cable glands and accessories designed to ensure the secure fixing and protection of cables in industrial applications. Available in technopolymer, nickel-plated brass and stainless steel, the range features a variety of thread types and provides reliable cable management solutions for designers, machine builders, electrical panel manufacturers and installers across a wide range of industrial applications.
An essential component in electrical and automation systems, a cable gland securely fixes the cable at the point where it enters electrical enclosures, junction boxes and equipment. It helps protect cables from mechanical stress while maintaining the enclosure's degree of protection against dust, moisture and external agents over time.
The new Elesa range includes:
Technopolymer cable glands (CGT series): lightweight and wear-resistant, with excellent electrical insulation and good chemical and corrosion resistance. They are particularly suitable for standard commercial and industrial electrical enclosures, such as junction boxes and distribution boards.
Nickel-plated brass cable glands (CGM-NK series): offering excellent structural stability, long service life and enhanced resistance to impact and localised mechanical loads, making them suitable for demanding industrial applications.
Stainless steel cable glands (CGM-SST series): providing maximum corrosion resistance, making them the preferred choice for high hygiene-sensitive sectors, such as the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for particularly aggressive environments.
Installation flexibility and international standards
Installation compatibility is ensured by the availability of the three main thread standards used worldwide: metric (M), providing secure and vibration-resistant connections in accordance with European standards; PG, particularly suitable for maintenance work and existing installations; and NPT (National Pipe Thread), essential for applications in the North American market.
This wide selection makes the range suitable both for new installations and for maintenance and retrofit work on existing systems. The range currently includes metric threads from M12 to M63, PG threads from PG 7 to PG 48 and NPT threads for the North American market.
A modular system of accessories
To complete installations and provide ready-to-use solutions, Elesa complements its cable glands with an integrated range of accessories:
Reducers, available in technopolymer (CGT-HR series) or brass (CGM-HR series), allow the mounting hole diameter to be adapted to the cable gland thread, providing reliable mechanical protection and sealing.
Mounting nuts, available in technopolymer (CGT-NTC series) or in brass and stainless steel (CGM-NT series), are designed to secure CGT cable glands to distribution boards and junction boxes, ensuring stable fixing and reliable mechanical sealing.
Threaded plugs, available in technopolymer (CGT-TC series) or brass (CGM-TC series), are used to close unused openings in distribution boards and junction boxes, protecting equipment against dust and moisture while maintaining the enclosure's sealing performance.
Multi-hole rubber sealing inserts (CGA-MS series) are ideal when several cables need to be routed through a single cable gland, replacing the standard sealing insert. They are compatible with both CGT technopolymer and CGM metal cable glands.
With this new family of products, Elesa further expands its range of standard machine components, providing designers and manufacturers with a comprehensive solution for cable management. The new range reflects Elesa's commitment to quality, reliability and ease of integration, delivering practical solutions for today's industrial applications.
