Technological innovation has always been the driving force behind Elesa’s growth; a continuous process that strengthens the company’s leadership in the industry. Within this evolution, logistics plays a strategic role, turning into a true competitive advantage. Today, Elesa takes another step forward with the introduction of a second automated logistics plant, designed to provide customers with an even faster, more precise and flexible service.
An investment for the future: the new automated warehouse for semi-finished products
The new automated warehouse, which has been fully operational for a few months at the Monza headquarters, represents the beating heart of Elesa’s integrated logistics system. With impressive dimensions (9.5 metres wide, 7 metres high and 70 metres long) and an initial storage capacity of 29,000 containers, expandable to over 43,000, the facility has been designed to meet growing demand and production peaks.
Equipped with the most advanced technologies, the warehouse ensures optimised management of material flows, perfectly synchronised with the assembly departments. Components are picked, assembled into complete kits, and delivered directly to the workstations, reducing downtime and increasing production efficiency.
Automation and safety serving quality
The facility is fully automated, featuring three picking stations (expandable to four) and six dedicated sorters feeding the production lines. This advanced automation eliminates human error, guaranteeing high accuracy in inventory management and picking operations, which are carried out in ergonomic and safe workstations.
Fire protection is also a top priority: the warehouse is equipped with a smoke detection system and an automatic sprinkler fire suppression system, ensuring maximum safety for both goods and personnel.
