It all began back in
1941, when the company took over a small workshop in Monza
that produced moulded plastic pieces for industry.
Immediately following the war, the laboratory became a small
industry, producing a series of standard handles, knobs and
handwheels for machines based on original designs.
The reconstruction process
and the development of Italian industry generated a strong demand
for components in the mechanical industry, and this is the context
within which many machine builders became familiar with and
began to appreciate the advantages of using Elesa products.
A brilliant intuitive idea, destined to enhance
the company's prestige, was to be the first
in this sector to introduce its own product "standardisation".
As a result of this initiative, parameters were defined which
became the reference for all manufacturers and users of machine
manual operating and control elements.

THE DEVELOPMENT |

The
overall positive consensus attained encouraged the company to
continue its process and product innovation-based strategy,
thus enhancing its ability to satisfy all the possible needs
that emerged from the evolution in design and from the increasingly
sophisticated nature of industrial machinery and equipment.
This was a successful strategy and, even if the needs of the
industry at the beginning of the sixties were still rather basic,
the original and functional design
of the Elesa items began to emerge
as the reference for all designers.
This gave rise to the advertising
slogan "ergonomy + design
= quality" that would be
the hallmark of company communication
to the present.
